The Midwest Discovery Route is your gateway to adventure, made possible by Midland Radio. This scenic, backroad journey is designed for overlanders and outdoor enthusiasts, offering approximately 300 miles of exploration and discovery. Whether you choose to embark from Topeka, KS; Cape Girardeau, MO; Columbia, MO; or Ft. Smith, AR, the route is filled with breathtaking views, historic landmarks, and creek crossings. It’s not a race, but a challenge of your navigation and teamwork skills, using roadbooks and maps to guide your way. And for 2026, we’re offering a complete digital bundle featuring all four new MDR routes + all four from 2025 for only $18.00 so you can explore the entire collection of Midwest Discovery Routes at your own pace.
Please note: Registration will close on April 1, 2026. The goal and purpose of MDR is to purchase and use in-route to the MOORE Expo. Choose a route, enjoy the adventure then come and hangout at the expo! Dates listed are the dates of the Expo, you can run the routes anytime prior to the expo!
Four Starting Locations: Kansas City, MO; St. Louis, MO; Tulsa, OK; Little Rock, AR.
Distance: Approximately 300 miles from each starting point to the MOORE Expo.
Explore in Segments or as a Whole: Flexibility to complete the route all at once or in sections.
Historic and Scenic Points of Interest: Significant monuments, ferry crossings, and natural landscapes along the route
Communication Encouraged via Midland Radio: Stay connected with your team and check in at hidden checkpoints. Midland Radio products are highly encouraged but not required.

Absolutely! The route takes you through some of the most scenic roads around southern Missouri. These roads are a mixture of gravel, paved, curvy, and mostly lightly traveled! The instructions will be very easy to follow.
The fee to register for the Midwest Discovery Route is $50 per vehicle and covers all passengers. Each vehicle will receive Midland radio rally navigation book, swag bag, commemorative patch, navigator support kit. The rally is open to all vehicles. Yes! Friendly, well-behaved dogs are welcome. All dogs must be kept on a leash at all times, and owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs anywhere on the property. Thanks for helping keep the event comfortable and enjoyable for everyone (two- and four-legged alike). 🐾
General camping passes are for the open camping area. Designed for car camping or tent camping. No services are available for camping spots. The RV pass is for a designated RV spot that includes a 30AMP connection and water.
There is a bath house with showers and toilets within walking distance of all camping spots.
Yes, we offer mobility scooters for rent to assist our guests with mobility challenges. We strive to make our event accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
